非洲大陆自由贸易区（非洲自贸区）秘书长梅内2021年3月在纽约联合国总部接受记者专访时表示，非洲自贸区为非洲与中国开展进一步合作提供“前所未有的”机遇。

　　近日，非洲自贸区与联合国开发计划署签署合作备忘录。签字仪式上，联合国常务副秘书长阿明娜·穆罕默德说，非洲自贸区为非洲重返实现可持续发展目标的轨道创造了契机。

　　今年1月1日，非洲自贸区启动仪式在线上举行，标志着该自贸区正式启动。分析人士认为，非洲自贸区建设虽面临诸多挑战，但它凸显了非洲国家推动经济转型的决心，有望增强非洲发展韧性。

　　疫情期间，由于部分国家限制公共卫生用品的出口，非洲国家一度无法获得防疫必需品。梅内表示，这是疫情给非洲国家留下的教训。过度依赖单一供应链或全球供应链对非洲来说存在风险，必须发展非洲自己的工业能力和制造能力以实现自给自足。
