世界卫生组织总干事谭德塞近日表示，新冠疫情仍然是一大全球健康威胁，现在还不是宣布这一大流行病结束的时候。
谭德塞的决定遵循了世卫组织突发事件委员会上周在日内瓦举行会议后提出的建议。
他认可委员会的观点，即新冠疫情可能处于一个过渡阶段，同时赞赏委员会关于谨慎应对这一过渡并减轻潜在负面影响的建议。
该委员会表示，“毫无疑问，在可预见的未来，这种病毒仍将是人类和动物体内长期存在的病原体。”
自新冠疫情被宣布为国际关注的突发公共卫生事件以来，已经过去了整整三年了。这一病毒于 2019 年 12 月 31 日在中国武汉首次被报告。
新冠仍是一大致病疾病
世卫组织总干事说，尽管全球的疫情形势比一年前好，当时奥密克戎变异株导致感染激增，但仅在过去八周内，全球就报告了超过 17万与新冠相关的死亡病例。
谭德塞指出，新冠病毒的监测和基因测序在全球范围内有所下降，这使得追踪已知变异株和检测新的突变变得更加困难。
他警告说，由于工作人员短缺和卫生工作者精疲力尽，卫生系统继续在困难的情况下努力治疗大量新冠患者以及其他流感和呼吸道感染患者。
疫苗的价值
谭德塞强调，疫苗、治疗和诊断方法对于预防严重疾病、挽救生命以及减轻全球卫生系统和卫生工作者的压力仍然至关重要。
他表示，尽管这些措施的价值已得到证实，但在太多无法向最需要帮助的人群、老年人和卫生工作者提供这些工具的国家中，新冠应对工作仍然“步履蹒跚”。
在全球范围内，向世卫组织报告的确诊新冠病例超过 7.525 亿例，其中包括 680 万例死亡病例。
在世卫组织突发事件委员会会议上，与会专家获悉，全球现已接种了 131 亿剂新冠疫苗，89% 的卫生工作者和 81%的60 岁以上老年人已经完成了基本系列疫苗接种 。
委员会成员对中低等收入国家以及全球高危人群的疫苗接种不足，以及与新出现的变异株相关的不确定性表示担忧。
“大流行疲劳”
他们还表示，“大流行疲劳”和风险降低的印象“导致人们大幅减少使用公共卫生和社会措施，例如佩戴口罩和保持社交距离”。
世卫组织敦促各国保持警惕，并继续报告病毒监测和基因组测序数据。
同时，还应在必要时实施“具有适当针对性”的公共卫生和社会措施，并且应当为最脆弱的群体接种疫苗，以尽量减少严重疾病和死亡。
回应人们对疫情的关切，世卫组织表示，改善预防措施的实施以遏制病毒依然是重中之重。
突发事件委员会指出，尽管在全球范围内流行的奥密克戎变异株仍然具有高度的传播性，但与早期其他需要关注的变异株相比，感染病毒不再一定意味着会引发严重的疾病。
