为强调语言文化多样性的重要性，推动联合国六种正式语文的平等使用，联合国全球传播部（前身为新闻部）于2010年宣布启动联合国语言日。 同年，经过国内专家论证，中国常驻联合国代表团向联合国建议将中文日定为每年4月20日。这一天正值中国传统节气“谷雨”，相传这一节气的确立恰好与“中华文字始祖”仓颉造字成功有关。 自此，在每年的中文日前后，纽约联合国总部、各地办事处以及其他一些联合国机构都会推出相应的庆祝活动，这已成为人们了解中国文化的一个窗口。
为庆祝2023年联合国中文日，书法家崔学路在纽约联合国总部举行书法展及讲座。 20日当天，联合国秘书处一楼大厅首先映入眼帘的是书法家崔学路题为“古今书法、道法自然”的书法展，展品中包含了20件书史诸体经典临摹以及20件老子《道经》中的名句摘抄。 书法是中国传统文化中具有蓬勃活力、内涵文化精神的代表性艺术载体。崔学路在根据展品所做的讲座中强调，与西方符号性的文字不同，中国的汉字与自然紧密地结合在一起，体现出“天人合一”的哲学思想，而这一理念也在老子的道学范式中得以集中体现。 在讲解汉字与书法历经数千年演变的同时，崔学路着重阐释了老子创立的“人本宇宙和平观”。他尤其称道老子“不以兵强天下”的主张，认为这对于现代文明和人类的未来走向都有着提纲挈领般的指导意义。
