据美国媒体报道，美国政府计划最早于本周内放宽对来自中国旅客的新冠检测限制。
报道说，随着中国的病例、住院和死亡人数的逐步下降，美国政府已决定降低检测要求。
美国疾控中心去年12月28日宣布，美国将对来自中港澳的入境人员实施强制性核酸检测，要求登机前出示核酸阴性证明。美方规定从今年1月5日开始，所有2岁及以上，从中国、香港或澳门欲前往美国的航空旅客，都需要在出发前2天进行核酸检测，并于登机前出示新冠肺炎阴性证明。规则适用于直飞及转机过境乘客。
从去年11月开始，美国放宽了对部分国家和地区的航空旅客入境限制，但要求旅客提供疫苗接种证明和阴性检测结果，并在入境后进行自我隔离。美国政府提供免费的新冠口服药给符合条件的阳性患者，以减轻症状和降低住院率。美国各州和地方政府根据当地疫情情况制定了不同的防控政策，包括戴口罩、保持社交距离、限制人员聚集等。
