据美国有线电视新闻网（CNN）2月9日报道，SpaceX公司总裁格温·肖特维尔（Gwynne Shotwell）8日在一场会议上表示，“星链”绝不会被武器化，该公司已采取积极措施阻止乌克兰军队将关键的“星链”卫星技术用于无人机。“我们可以做一些事情来限制他们这样做的能力，有些事情我们可以做，而且已经做了。”
肖特维尔坚称，他们从未打算让“星链”以现在的方式用于军事用途，SpaceX公司没有预料到乌军对“星链”的依赖会如此之深
